Champasak is a small town in southwestern Laos, close to the borders with Thailand and Cambodia. It is one of the three principalities that succeeded the Lao kingdom of Lan Xang. The town is quite small, with only a single main street running parallel to the Mekong and is quiet, relaxed and not on the main tourist route which adds to its allure.
