Xin chao! Welcome to Hanoi, Vietnam! You are welcomed by a local guide at Noi Bai Airport and transfer to the hotel in Hanoi city centre.

Hanoi is one of Asia’s most enchanting cities, full of culture, history and the engaging contradictions of a rapidly developing and deeply traditional society.

The rest of the day will be free at your own leisure to recover from jetlag.

day 2

After breakfast at hotel, you head out to Ba Dinh Square and start the day with visit to President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and house-on-stilts plus the nearby One Pillar Pagoda.

Next, you visit the Temple of Literature, dedicated to Confucius, built in the 11th century. This was the first university in Vietnam and students still come here to burn incense and wish for success in exams. You will find a peaceful atmosphere tinged with incense smoke, and sunken lotus ponds populated by golden fish and turtles.

You then enjoy lunch at KOTO, a well-trained restaurant, with the slogan “Know One, Teach One”. KOTO is a non-profit center where disadvantaged youths are given job training’s in hospitality and find employments for a better future.

In the afternoon, enjoy the drive through the busy city to visit Ethnology Museum and get an excellent overview of the country’s various ethnic groups. The large outdoor area features genuine houses and compounds as built by the different ethnic groups.

Afterward, you will return to the Old Quarter in the mid afternoon, a place you must experience while in Hanoi. You will find shopping and cultural / historical sites all wrapped into one. Conclude the day tour with a relaxing walk to the central lake. Located at the heart of the city, Hoan Kiem Lake is a historical site and one of the symbols of Hanoi, with Tortoise Tower and Ngoc Son Temple on the lake’s two islands.

The rest of the day is free at your own leisure to further explore this dynamic capital city.

day 3

After breakfast, you will be picked up by the cruise’s shuttle bus and transfer to Halong Bay, one of the most stunning natural wonders of the world, a picturesque blend of harmonious transition between the mountains and the sea.

On arrival, board a traditional junk and head out into Bai Tu Long Bay amongst the huge limestone outcrops and emerald waters. You spend the rest of the day cruising Vung Vieng Village with choices to discover the daily life of the fishing communities with bamboo boat (one hour) or to kayak around Vung Vieng area (one hour).

Then, spend some time swimming, sunbathing or simply relaxing at Ban Chan Beach where you are surrounded by huge limestone outcrops and endless emerald water. Relax and enjoy the sunset cocktail while the boat is cruising to Cong Dong – Cong Do area to anchor for the night. Lunch and dinner on board.

day 4

Start your day with a Tai Chi lesson on the sundeck while complimentary tea and coffee being served. Rejuvenate your body and mind with the slow movements of Tai Chi and enjoy the beautiful dawn on the bay.

Light breakfast is served onboard while the boat leisurely sails to Thien Canh Son Cave. Located at the centre of the World Heritage Area- Halong Bay, Thien Canh Son Cave treats tourists to the wild and mysterious beauty of nature.

Return to your boat and relax. Enjoy the brunch before checking out. Back at the dock at around 11am, you will be transferred back to Hanoi by the cruise’s shuttle bus.

day 5

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel then prepare to check out. You will be transferred by private car to Noi Bai airport for your flight to Da Nang.

Upon arrival, you will be picked up by a local guide and transferred to hotel in the town of Hoi An.

After checking in and some rest time, you spend the afternoon to walk the ancient streets of Hoi An, which are lined with Chinese traders’ homes and wooden houses reincarnated as restaurants, cafes, and outlets for local artists, craftsmen and tailors.

Explore the beautiful 16th-century Japanese Bridge, Phung Hung Ancient House and Hoi An central market. Hoi An’s unique fusion of Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese architecture is well displayed here, in what is arguably Vietnam’s most tourist-friendly town.

The rest of the day is free at your leisure to further explore the town.

Today will be free day for you to discover the town at leisure. You can cycle to the beach and relax or wander around the town with many choices of shopping and spa to relax, cafes and local delicacies to taste. Hoi An is a paradise for custom-made silk, fashionable clothing and accessories which would be great souvenirs to bring home for your friends and loved ones.

The morning is free at leisure. Later, you will transfer to Danang airport. Board your flight to Ho Chi Minh City, formerly named as Saigon during the colonial era. Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city of Vietnam, bustling economic capital and cultural trendsetter of the country. Yet, the city still holds the timeless traditions of an ancient culture.

Start your day with a visit to Reunification Palace, the former residence of the President of South Vietnam. You can visit the “War Room” where the South Vietnamese forces were controlled, and the room where the North Vietnamese army finally took control in the Fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975. Your next stop is the famous Notre Dame Cathedral. Built between 1877 and 1883, Saigon’s Neo-Romanesque Notre Dame Cathedral is a major Centre of Catholicism in modern Vietnam, and one of the city’s major landmarks. Then, visit the Saigon Post Office, a classic French colonial structure, and still a functioning post office today. The landmark features huge ceilings, a giant portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, and beautiful architecture details.

Next is the Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine. Its collection of 3,000 items, including traditional tools and ancient documents, traces the development of traditional medicine in Vietnam. This is the unique world with variety of aromas that your nose would love to travel around.

You then stop by the War Remnants Museum which contains countless artifacts and photographs documenting said crimes.

Conclude your day with a visit to Ben Thanh Market, packed to the rafters with everything from fruits to nuts, from tourist kitsch to true bargains, it is a definite must-see.

day 9

After breakfast at the hotel, you will then transfer to Ben Tre province. Today, you will experience different types of transportation, see the authentic life of local people and taste the specialty of the Mekong Delta.

Upon arrival at Hung Vuong Pier in Ben Tre town, you get on a boat and cruise from the river to the canals and relax as the scenery along the river changes. Stop at My Long village, you will walk to a village to see how locals make rice paper and enjoy some rice cakes. Continue boating & winding through coconut jungle and visit a coconut processing workshop. The day goes on as you boat narrow waterways and stop at a bee garden, enjoy some fruits, honey and listen to “Mekong music” performed by the local farmers. Then, take a short walk along the riverside paths to a coconut candy mill and have a look at how locals produce this regional delicacy and treat yourself some tasty sweets here.

As the morning wears on, you can cycle the Mekong’s rural tracks or enjoy a tuktuk drive through coconut grove, village paths until lunch. Enjoy your lunch at a farmer house of Mr. Ba Danh by the river. After lunch, the rowing boat will take you through shady palm tree canals to Ben Tre River.

You will transfer back to main pier and drive back to Saigon in the late afternoon.

The day is free at leisure in Ho Chi Minh City for some last-minute shopping or local food tastings!

Check out from your hotel around noon.
